Join the EASL Global Liver Advocacy Network

We would like to invite passionate advocates, health professionals, and health and advocacy organisations committed to advancing liver health to apply to join the EASL Global Liver Advocacy Network. Launching at EASL Congress 2025, this initiative will unite a global community dedicated to raising awareness, influencing policy, and driving impactful change in the fight against liver disease. By joining this network, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded professionals, share best practices, and strengthen advocacy efforts worldwide.

If you are eager to be part of this new initiative, we encourage you to apply. Below, you will find details on eligibility, objectives, and the application process.

EASL Global Liver Advocacy Network key objectives:

1. Sharing success stories and best practices
  • Create accessible platforms — such as annual conferences, virtual webinars, EASL Studio events, and interactive forums — where health professionals can showcase advocacy initiatives that have made a tangible impact.
  • Develop a repository of case studies to inspire replication and innovation globally.
2. Facilitating cross-border collaborations
  • Connect advocates, healthcare providers, policy-makers, and patient organisations from diverse regions to share expertise, ideas, and resources.
  • Establish thematic working groups focused on shared challenges, such as reducing liver disease stigma or increasing access to liver disease screening and treatment in underserved areas.
3.  Leveraging existing partnerships
  • Strengthen ties with national and international associations, NGOs, policy-makers, and community leaders to extend the reach of advocacy efforts.
4.  Building advocacy capacity
  • Offer dedicated advocacy training programmes, including workshops, e-learning courses, and hands-on training sessions.
5. Driving policy change
  • Advocate for policies that:
    – Promote early detection, prevention, and treatment of liver diseases.
    – Address social determinants of liver health and risk factors, such as alcohol use, obesity, and viral hepatitis.
    – Increase funding for liver disease research and care programmes.
    – Reduce stigma through public education campaigns.
  • Publish policy briefs and engage with decision-makers to ensure liver health remains a priority on health agendas.
