Nurses and AHPs Task Force

Are you supporting and advancing care for people with liver disease through clinical excellence or research? Are you ready to shape the educational/research and clinical priorities of EASL’s Nurses and Allied Health Professionals Task Force?

About the Role

Are you dedicated to advancing care for people with liver disease through clinical excellence or innovative research? Since its establishment in 2016, the Nurses & Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) Task Force has grown in influence and impact. Members drive excellence in liver care across Europe – shaping clinical education, leading research programmes, promoting evidence‑based practice, and influencing how liver care evolves.

Role Expectations

  • Participate in monthly online meetings and one annual in‑person meeting.
  • Attend and actively participate in the annual EASL Congress.
  • Coordinate speakers and contribute to the EASL Congress programme development.
  • Actively contribute to the Task Force activities (e.g., EASL Studio) and support additional initiatives year‑round.
  • Commit to the Task Force’s goals.

Term of Office

June 2026 – including EASL Congress 2029.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • The candidate must be professionally active in a European country, as defined by the World Health Organization. (link https://www.euro.who.int/en/countries) 
  • The candidate must be an EASL member in good standing.

Particular attention will be paid to applications from male candidates to maintain gender balance in line with EASL Equity, Diversity and Inclusion policy.

Current Task Force members are from Denmark, Sweden, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Candidates from other countries are particularly encouraged to apply.

The call is open from 11 December 2025.

Selection Criteria

Criteria  Essential Desirable
Clinical Experience
  • Experience in working with patients with liver disease in an inpatient ward or outpatient clinic.

And/or

  • Experience in working in a liver-related project management/research role
  • Experience of working at an advanced practice level
Academic Experience
  • Able to access and critically read healthcare literature 
  • Awareness and implementation of evidence-based research into clinical practice 
  • Master’s or PhD degree
  • Experience of reviewing abstracts
  • Experience of peer reviewing manuscripts for publication
  • Experience of writing peer-reviewed publications
Teaching Experience
  • Experience in presenting to or teaching groups of healthcare professionals (nurses and AHPs)
  • Experience of presenting to interprofessional audiences
  • Formal postgraduate teaching qualification
  • Experience in conference organisation
Leadership Experience
  • Experience of organising meetings/events/educational sessions
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Able to speak, read, and write in English at a level that enables clear communication with members of the EASL community
  • Experience working as ward manager, or department/team leader
  • Experience of liver-related healthcare committee/group membership and contribution to activities either locally, regionally, nationally, or internationally.

  • Curriculum vitae (Max. 4 pages)
  • Letter of interest explaining motivation and expected contribution to the Task Force

Selection Process

  1. The current Nurse and AHP Task Force will rank each application based on achievements, motivation, and experience.
  2. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted, and an interview will be arranged. 

Other considerations will include the applicant’s geographical location, gender, age, academic experience and profession to ensure ongoing balance within the Task Force.
