Open consultation on new EASL Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Policy Statement

EASL has released its new Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Policy Statement and invites feedback.

Built around the association’s four pillars: Education, Advocacy, Science, and Leadership, the statement reflects EASL’s commitment to creating an inclusive environment across all areas of its work, that embraces diversity across all dimensions of identity and experience (including but not limited to gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, socio-economic background, and age).
The policy statement includes practical measures designed to remove barriers and promote fair representation, introduces robust procedures for addressing discrimination, and sets out both short- and long-term goals to ensure sustained progress.

At EASL, we strongly believe that a more inclusive and representative community strengthens innovation, supports global collaboration, and ensures that liver health needs are met for all.

We invite all stakeholders to review the policy and share their feedback during the consultation phase. Comments and suggestions can be sent to: governance@easloffice.eu before 15 September 2025.
