Sophie Lotersztajn

Sophie Lotersztajn is Director of Research at the Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM). She is the chairman of the Hepato-Gastroenterology Department and future Deputy Director from 2019 of the Center for Reasearch in Inflammation in Paris, where she also heads the group « inflammation and stress responses in chronic liver diseases » . Her research focusses on the role of inflammation in chronic liver disease progression, with main interest in liver fibrosis, injury and regeneration. She is currently the chairman of the scientific council of the Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale, and chaired the scientific committee « Phisiopathology » at the Inserm. She served for 10 years as an associate Editor for American Journal of Phsyiology-Cell Physiology and acts as a co-Editor for Journal of Hepatology.
