Marina Berenguer

Marina Berenguer is a Consultant Hepatologist at La Fe University Hospital, Valencia, (Spain). She trained in medicine at the University of Valencia, before completing a fellowship at the VA Medical Center / University of California (USA), with Dr. T. Wright. Professor of Medicine at the University of Valencia, Faculty of Medicine.
Professor Berenguer is well recognized for her important contributions to the field of post-transplantation HCV liver disease. She was involved in the creation of various consensus documents on viral hepatitis and liver disease, and is an active committee member for several national and international hepatology and liver transplantation societies. She has received numerous grants for her research in antiviral therapy for hepatitis C and awards for her medical research. Since its creation in 2006, she has also co-ordinated research within a national research network in hepato-gastroenterology (“Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red En Enfermedades Hepáticas y Digestivas”, CIBER-ehd).
Associate editor for Journal of Hepatology and Liver Transplantation from 2011 to until 2014. Deputy editor for Transplantation since 2015. She has authored more than 150 publications in peer-reviewed journals as well as over 50 chapters in international and national textbooks.
